Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz

Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz has been the spiritual leader of Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem in Montreal , Quebec , since September 1996. He writes a regular column for the Canadian Jewish News (Several of these articles can be found on the Internet on www.truetalkradio.com. Rabbi Steinmetz is the Past President of the Montreal Board of Rabbis , Past Vice President of the Quebec Region of the Canadian Jewish Congress, a member of the executive of Quebec Israel Committee (QIC). He is a member of the board of the Federation/CJA of Montreal and Hillel-Jewish Students Center of Montreal. He was the chair of the 2004 Federation/CJA Young Leadership Campaign and was the co-chair of the Synagogue division of the 1998-1999 and 1999-2000 Federation/CJA campaign and co-chair of Super Sunday 2000. He was the recipient of the Federation/CJA’s 2001 Gertrude and Henry Plotnick Young Leadership Award. He is a member of the executive board of the Rabbinical Council of America, and a member of the Rabbinic Executive of the Kollel Torah MiTzion . He received his ordination from Yeshiva University , where he was a fellow of the elite Gruss Kollel Elyon . He has a M.A. in Jewish Philosophy from the Bernard Revel Graduate School , and a M.A. in Education from Adelphi University . He has completed Leadership Education and Development (L.E.A.D.) and Meorot Rabbinic fellowships.

 

Avi Tanny

(Double Trouble)

Avi Tanny is a single 25 year father of two year old twins, who lives in Montreal, and grew up in Montreal’s Lubavitch Jewish community. He is currently a special care student at Vanier. In his spare time he does stand up comedy shows. He got into comedy on a friendly ‘dare’ several months ago, and has done several shows since then. His twin girls, and well as being from a small family of eleven, provide most of the inspiration for his comedy routine.

Itai Azerrad

(Itai’s Corner)

Itai was born august 14 1996 in Netanya Israel. Along with his family Itai moved to Montreal when he was of four years old. He is a graduate of JPPS and is currently enrolled in Bialik high school. Itai has been giving his opinions and participating in debates with Howie on the Howie Silbiger Show on Radio Shalom for the year and a half. He was also a member of the YAYA Yiddish theatre group at the Segal Center for the past six years, performing YAYA’s “NO More Raisins No More Almonds” to audiences in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa. Itai is a member of the Bialik track and field team, Eco club, debating team and book club. He also attended and won a honorable mention in last year’s Jewish Model UN. Itai is passionate about the environment, politics and global issue’s. He enjoys discussing and debating with everyone with an opinion.

 

Mark Pezzelato

Mark William Pezzelato is the author of a book called Transformations – Your Inner Guide to Self-Exploration. He is a musician, author, performer, and independent business owner. Mark has an honors degree graduating at the top of his class in announcing from the radio broadcasting program at Loyalist College in Belleville. He has studied human behavior as a self-exploration project and has taken psychology and philosophy courses at York University. In 2003 Mark founded Pezmosis Music Productions, a company focused on expanding and developing independent Canadian talent. Mark is often referred to as “Pez” amongst his friends. He plays drums for various rock, rap, and punk bands, and is the singer/songwriter of Vanek, an alternative rock band focused on the message of love and respect. He scores music for film and television and is well versed in many areas of expertise. Mark has a fascination for human behavior, healing, learning, growing, and evolving. Mark currently resides in Oak Ridges, Ontario.
